The Pond · history

The beginning of a unique place.

The Villadangos Lagoon, locally known as “El Estanque,” is a haven of tranquillity with a rich history rooted in the town of Villadangos del Páramo, in León. Its origin as an endorheic lagoon, fluctuating with the seasons, was transformed in the 1940s when local residents, recognising its agricultural potential, built walls to retain water and irrigate their fields.
